God cares for his church, for his world and for all the people in it, men and women made in his own image. He is sovereign over human history and human lives, and he raises up individuals from every background to be instruments of his providential care.
Here is a diverse collection of stories from the lives of such men and women, past and present, believers as well as non-believers. Some of them are well known, others less so. In each case, they have been providentially used by God in some way, either to edify his church, shape culture, or contribute to human thriving.
