Shouting the Worth of Every Person

As a mom of three adopted children – two with Down Syndrome and one of a different race – Heather Avis knows firsthand what it’s like to feel uncomfortable. Parenting is a daily process of getting our of her comfort zone and helping her needy children. Such experiences have prompted her to encourage the church to do the same: scoot over and make some room. Filled with funny stories about forgetting pants and spontaneous dance parties, listeners will learn that reaching out to the hurting can bring great joy in the middle of everyday life. Her stories from her motherhood journey will also inspire the church to think of others before we consider our own comfort and security.
