Josh and Heather Avis

A former education specialist and high school teacher, Heather Avis is now a full-time, stay-at-home mom to her three adopted children, two of whom have Down syndrome. She has written a book detailing her family's remarkable story titled The Lucky Few: Finding God's Best in the Most Unlikely Places. Heather is also a blogger and has a popular Instagram account, @macymakesmyday, which has more than 100,000 followers. She and her husband, Josh, make their home in Southern California.
