Have you ever felt disconnected? Like you belong somewhere, but you are not quite sure where? Or to whom?
The heart of the Christian faith is this: that God made us and wants to have an intimate, personal relationship with us. This is the purpose for which we were created: to know God, to receive His love for us and to love Him in return.
Sin has disrupted the relationship we were meant to have with God. Sin is people saying they know better than God. It is pride, believing that we can live life outside of God’s ways. This creates separation between us and God. So how do we repair this relationship?
We cannot repair it. God has already made a way for us to be restored to relationship with Him.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
God took the initiative to reach out to us by sending His Son to bridge the gap that sin has created between us. To come to faith, we simply need to acknowledge that we need His forgiveness.
“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
A relationship with God is yours for the asking. Pray a simple prayer, such as this: “Jesus, I want to have a relationship with God. Thank you for coming to die for my sins. I believe that you have been raised from the dead so that I can have life with God. I give my life to you. Amen.”
